Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2 September 2026 · Version: 1.0

This Policy explains how HUSHNET handles personal data through hushnet.co.ke, enquiries and related communications. HUSHNET operates the Website from Nairobi, Kenya. For a privacy request, email info@hushnet.co.ke with subject PRIVACY REQUEST.

Privacy at a glance

  • We use enquiry information to respond, scope requested work, operate and secure the Website, and meet legal obligations.
  • The Website uses one first-party local-storage entry to remember your cookie choice. Google Analytics measurement is on by default and can be turned off through Cookie settings; advertising and cross-site tracking are not used.
  • We do not treat an enquiry as permission to publish it, sell it, use it for unrelated advertising or use it for general-purpose model training.
  • You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or another right available under applicable law.

1. Scope and data role

For the public Website and business enquiries, HUSHNET is responsible for the processing described here. A customer deployment may place HUSHNET in a different role, including as a processor acting on documented customer instructions; the applicable commercial and data-processing terms govern that relationship.

2. Information we may collect

  • Identity and organization: name, organization, role or relationship to an organization.
  • Contact: business email, telephone number and chosen communication channel.
  • Enquiry and project: requested service or product, project type, organization size, requirements, message, timing and correspondence.
  • Technical and security: IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, timestamp, referrer, response status and security signals generated by browsers, networks, hosting or security systems. Google Analytics may also receive pseudonymous measurement events and identifiers unless you turn analytics off.
  • Business records: quotations, meeting notes, proposals, approvals, support or relationship records if an enquiry progresses.

3. Why we process information

HUSHNET may process information to receive and answer enquiries; prepare a demonstration, scope or proposal; operate, troubleshoot and secure the Website; understand Website usage; prevent spam, fraud and misuse; maintain business, compliance and claims records; and send marketing only where an applicable lawful basis allows it.

Depending on the activity, the basis may be steps requested before a possible contract, legitimate interests in secure business operations and communication, legal duties, legal claims or a choice to turn an optional technology off. You can disable analytics through Cookie settings.

4. Data minimization and sensitive information

Please submit only what is reasonably necessary for an enquiry. Do not send passwords, private keys, production credentials, payment authentication data, active vulnerability details, or unnecessary health, biometric, student, child, precise-location, payroll or other sensitive personal data through a general form or ordinary email. Ask us to agree an appropriate secure route before sending sensitive information.

5. Children and high-risk deployments

The public Website is not directed to children. School, health-note, biometric, CCTV, payroll and telematics deployments may involve children or sensitive data. Before that processing starts, HUSHNET and the customer must identify their legal roles, lawful basis, notices, instructions, access controls, retention, security, incident process and individual-rights handling in the project documents.

6. Recipients and external services

We limit sharing to what is reasonably necessary. Recipients may include authorized HUSHNET personnel; providers supporting hosting, security, spam prevention, form delivery, email and communications; an organization you represent; professional advisers; and authorities where lawfully required.

The Website uses Netlify-related hosting and form-delivery functions. Google may process measurement data generated by the Google Analytics tag under its own terms unless you turn analytics off. If you choose an external channel such as WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram, that provider handles the information you send under its own terms. Please review those terms before using the channel.

7. International processing and retention

Hosting, communication, support or cloud providers may process information in another country. Where this occurs, HUSHNET will assess the purpose, provider, destination and applicable requirements and use the safeguard or permission required by law.

We keep data only while the enquiry, relationship, security need, legal duty or potential claim reasonably requires it. We then delete, securely dispose of or de-identify it, subject to backups and lawful holds. Details about browser storage and analytics choices are in the Cookie Notice.

8. Security

HUSHNET uses organizational and technical measures selected for the nature of the Website and information, including access limitation, provider controls, secure transport where supported, authentication, monitoring, spam or abuse controls and incident handling. No internet transmission, email or information system is completely secure. Report a suspected issue using subject SECURITY REPORT.

9. Your rights and complaints

Subject to applicable law and its exceptions, you may request information about processing, access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability where applicable, or review of a qualifying solely automated decision. We may request proportionate evidence of identity or authority before responding.

Contact HUSHNET first at info@hushnet.co.ke. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya at odpc.go.ke or use another remedy available under applicable law.

10. Marketing and changes

An enquiry is not automatically a subscription to unrelated marketing. Where HUSHNET offers marketing, it will use an applicable lawful basis and provide a practical opt-out. Transactional, security, legal or requested service messages may still be necessary.

We may update this Policy as the Website, services, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date and version above identify the current version. You may request a prior version at info@hushnet.co.ke.
